California Medical Association is a professional organization dedicated to serving their member physicians through a comprehensive program of legislative, legal, regulatory, economic and social advocacy. This month’s presentation will include:

• New California Laws and how they affect physician practices
• Legal Affairs in the Courts -- CMA's advocacy in the courts
• CMA Legal Resources to assist physician practices

ABOUT LISA MATSUBARA: Lisa Matsubara is Legal Counsel in the Center for Legal Affairs at the California Medical Association.  Lisa advocates on behalf of California physicians on privacy and security, medical records, digital health, drug prescribing, scope of practice, reproductive health, and public health issues.  She manages CMA Legal’ s educational resources, including the California Physician's Legal Handbook and CMA's health law library. Lisa also oversees CMA's legal information line which provides information about California and federal laws to CMA physician members.
